NEW YORK, NY – January 25, 2011 - Blustering winds
and 19 inch snow fall outside were no match for the flurry of ideas, capital
connections and team offers being exchanged within the Grand Hall of the
Harvard Club.In true “no non-sense”
New Yorker fashion, despite inclement weather, almost 200 VCs, angel investors
and exceptional entrepreneurs gathered for an exclusive networking event at the
Harvard Club. The New York City venture
scene is abuzz with capital, aspiring entrepreneurs and supportive City
government initiatives. Enviable white-hot
ventures such as Gilt Groupe and Foursquare all call the Big Apple
home.
This members-only
event was organized in concert with the Harvard Business Club of New York. On a night where President Obama’s “State of
Union Address” emphasized education and innovation, it was fitting that
entrepreneurs and venture capitalists were simultaneously uniting to become
catalysts for the national change envisioned. The energetic crowd represented a broad spectrum of industries including
health care, financial services, international trade and digital media amongst
others.
“I am happy that
our CEO was able to co-organize the event through the Harvard Business
Club. The event is in line with Crimson
Oak’s distinctive “Are
You Ready?” industry seminars and is a terrific pre-cursor to our
AYR seminar on Alternative Investments later this year.”- Lior Evan, COO of Parallel Investment
Management LLC and Advisory Board member of Crimson Oak.
